To celebrate our centenary AGM, we look forwards and back with performances from young stars of the poetry scene. Holly Hopkins, Amy Key and Amy Blakemore read a short selection of their own work, and share poems they have chosen from our new anthology A Century of Poetry Review. Amy Blakemore won the Foyle Young Poet of the Year Award in 2007 and 2008 and was featured in the 2009 Times young poets of the year. Holly Hopkins has twice won the Foyle and her work has recently been praised in the Guardian. Amy Key runs The Shuffle, the popular night at the Poetry Cafe for new and established voices. Her first collection Instead of Stars is published by tall lighthouse.
Published to mark the Poetry Society’s centenary, A Century of Poetry Review is a fascinating selection of the poems and essays that have been published in the magazine during its 100-year history. From Brooke and Hardy to Walcott and Duffy, the anthology plots the story of poetry through the past century.
