The Young Poets Network is a webiste for young people, brought to you by the Poetry Society, which offers workshops, challenges and feedback alongside features by poets and information about poetry groups and opportunities.

It includes everything from advice on how to submit your work to magazines through to ways into reading poetry. Whether you are looking for support in reading, writing or performing your poetry, we have features to help you make the most of your work.

Poetry Society Youth Membership

The Poetry Society has over 200 youth members aged 11-18. As part of a community they are encouraged to share their work, submit to our online magazine and enter competitions.  Foyle Young Poets Of the Year Award -

The Foyle Young Poet of the Year Award is the UK's largest and most prestigious poetry competition for 11-17 year olds. It opens for entries from the 10th March 2014 - The deadline for entries is the 31st July 2014

One hundred young poets win Poetry Society Youth Memberships and books, while the top 15 winners receive places on a residential writing course and have their poems published in an anthology distributed across the UK. Find out more.

Thanks to funding from the Foyle Foundation, The Poetry Society is pleased to announce that the Foyle Alumni Summer Internship Programme (all previous Foyle winners/commendeds aged 18+ are eligible to apply) is    open for applications. Find out more here

SLAMbassadors UK

SLAMbassadors UK is the Poetry Society's national spoken word championship for people aged 12-18. Young poets are invited to write new poems or rap pieces and perform them to camera in our annual programme of workshops and talent scouting. The next SLAMbassadors UK championship will be opening for submissions towards the end of 2012.  Find out more
