Tell them how you help your school, and that

Has made you a responsible,
dependable,
reliable,
and maybe even conscientious
person.
Be yourself, they said. Remember
That it's called a Personal Statement. And remember
To change that comma to a semi-colon, and say
That you like to play hockey
Between the months of September and April.

Life, horizontally.
Today bookmarked,
Tomorrow ready-ruled
Time passes in paragraphs.
