The Poetry Society Celebrating our centenary

* Our Poetry Evening on the 1st March to celebrate St. Davids Day was a great success, with over 60 people attending. Professor Tony Curtis was our main speaker, and there was a full programme with harp music and a buffet of Welsh Fayre. 

* In April we hope to visit Dowlais Library in Merthyr Tydfil for an afternoon event, a date has not yet been finalised.

Due to the big distances between people in this area, I have started an email list on Yahoo for the Stanza for members to post their poems and read each other's work. We already have two up there. The link is northwalesstanza AT yahoogroups.com. Membership for posting is open only to Stanza members but anyone can read.
 

North East Wales (Cross Border Poets)

* Cross Border Poets meet in the Subscribers Room at Clwyd Theatr Cymru on every second Monday in the month at 7.30pm.

* Our March meeting will take place on Monday the 8th, and at that session we’ll be doing writing exercises, so bring along a pen and paper.

* On Sunday 16th May Prof. David Morley will be running a day workshop for us at Plas Newydd, Llangollen. David is a leading British poet, critic and ecologist. He has published twenty books, including eleven collections of poetry. His forthcoming collection of poems from Carcanet will be titled Enchantment.
