Harrow Herga Poets
Twickenham
* Herga Poets meets on the third Sunday of the month from two o'clock till five or thereabouts. There are usually eight or nine present: four women and five men. We have a monthly changed display of our poems in the main library. We meet in luxurious surroundings - the very comfortable library of a prep school. 2 of our members are Poetry Society members. Importantly, before coming, telephone or email Dorothy Pope.
* Jane Upchurch has had her first book published. It is Inner Wellies - Creative Space for Soul Searchers published 1/10 by Christian Education ISBN 978 1 905893 35 5.
* Dorothy Pope has been a runner up in the monthly competition of The Oldie, is one of the three poets chosen for the spring edition of Poems in the Waiting Room and has a poem in Quantum Leap. She has been reading the wonderful poem Miracle on St. David's Day to absolutely everyone!
Alice Thurling reading at Rhythm & Muse
* Rhythm & Muse poetry and music monthly night. Poets from the Twickenham and Barnes Stanza's joined forced as guest poets reading to a full house. It included first time readers alongside our published poets and more seasoned performers. It was a great evening and wonderful to hear final versions of pieces we'd workshopped.
* The Twickenham stanza now has 21 members and is producing some great work. Check out Rosemary Norman's pamphlet The Song of the Nobird. Member Jeewansing Ramlugun is going to press with his collection of poems about Mauritius. Judith Watts's poem that was workshopped at the meeting is appearing in a Cinammon Press anthology.
