Please do join the Facebook group to stay updated!

Members of the East Manchester and Tameside Stanza have suggested staying in touch outside of the group meetings in order to exchange feedback on work, discuss poetry and so on. Therefore, we've created a Yahoo group so that people can stay connected outside of the Stanza meeting.

Members can join this group and use it to network with each other, post poems for discussion, and get to know each other 'virtually'!

Feel free to use it even if you have yet to actually attend a Stanza meeting, but the group is strictly for the use of people in the region interested in poetry, including those who may find it difficult to come to meetings but still wish to be involved and be a 'virtual member'.

Spammers or those causing offence will be blocked and prevented from using the group.

Find us at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TamesideStanza/

* Our meetings are 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and the venue is the Bamford Room upstairs at the Joshua Bradley, Address: The Joshua Bradley, Hyde Road, Gee Cross, Hyde, Greater Manchester SK14 5EG http://www.hydesbrewery.co.uk/joshuabradley/index.html. We'll have the opportunity to each share a poem, so please bring a copy of a poem you would like to read out. Time-permitting, we will do a creative writing exercise too, so pen and paper will be handy. Remember as well, Stanzas are not just for Poetry Society members, so you are welcome to bring an interested friend and pass this information on to any people you think might like to come along.

Angela Topping will be running a poetry event at Hartford Hall, School Lane, Hartford, Cheshire (81 School Lane, Hartford, Northwich CW8 1PW Telephone: 01606 786400 ) on 22 February, in the upstairs room. It will start at 6pm with a workshop and the open floor plus guest will start at 8pm. There is a guest, John Calvert, but plenty of time for open floor poetry. Bring your own or someone else's. Workshop is £3, open floor £1. Non-Poetry Society members and non-readers also welcome. This is a friendly informal event and participants usually order food in between the workshop and the open floor.
