The next meeting of the Stanza will be on Tuesday May 29th, 7.30-9.30 at the buffet bar, Stalybridge Station. We have chosen Robert Browning's 'My Last Duchess' as our published poem for discussion, to recognise that it is also his bicentenary this year.

We will have a writing activity, so bring pen/pencil and paper; and bring 8-10 copies of a recent poem of your own that you would like constructive feedback on.

Stanza groups are set up by the Poetry Society but you don't have to be a member of the society to attend the meetings, so why not bring a friend along. The more the merrier. The only requirement is a genuine love of poetry. See you all there.

Angela Topping runs an event at Hartford Hall, Hartford, near Northwich, called BLAZE. It starts at 6pm with a workshop and moved into a readaround by 8pm. Readers can read their own or a favourite poem. Flash fiction is also welcome. There is usually a guest. Contact Angela for the date of the next one. There is a page on Facebook where news is posted. Angela will be editing an anthology for BLAZE in the future and anyone who attends is welcome to submit.
