Longshore Drift was first broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and performed to great acclaim at the 2008 Ledbury Poetry Festival.
Daytime visitors will also be able to enjoy the poetry trail created by the twenty writers who visited the site in January and wrote poems in response. These will be posted across the site.
A children's poetry competition has been launched, with readings and the presentation of the prizes to be made during the weekend.
Organiser Fred Ellis: "The fundamental aim is to create opportunities for the public to engage with the poetry and the heritage of the region that is extraordinarily rich in both. The festival weekend has quickly developed into both a regional and national event, celebrating both the Poetry Society's centenary and the 70th anniversary of the (Sutton Hoo) ship find. There have been three major archaeological digs on this site - we're calling this the fourth: a dig in to the imagination."
