What a start for the 2007 Rise Londonwide Youth Slam Championships. The first three heats held at the Arts Theatre, Soho Theatre and Stratford Circus had audiences whipped into a frenzy.
Young people joined together from all over London, packing out the venues with a need to get their voices heard. They rapped, chanted, spat and sang with with passion and intensity about what it means to be a young Londoner today.
They dealt with some of the major issues facing young people - not just in London but everywhere - and they dealt with them with a maturity and authority way beyound their years.
Don't take our word for it - hear it for yourself.
The Arts Theatre - 25 April 2007
The Soho Theatre - 30 April 2007
Stratford Circus - 3 May 2007
Joelle Taylor, coordinator of the Rise Youth Slam Championship 2007 says: - "Don't miss the opportunity to hear these young performers and show your support at the Semi Finals on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 June."
