Hiring Space in the Poetry Café 

The Poetry Cafe can be ideal for your event.  See below for our spaces.

The Poetry Café Basement

The basement is used for most cafe events. It hold 50 people. It is frequently used for book and magazine launches. It is a no smoking space with lift access. It is a heavily used space so you would need to book at least 2 months in advance.

The Poetry Studio

Bright space used frequently for seminars and teaching of all sorts. It has a board room style table which seats 14. There is seating for 50. Blackout blinds, flip charts, tv monitor and vhs video player, lcd projector, cd player, overhead projector all available.  Available for hire by the hour or for whole day (10am-5pm.) The studio is a no smoking space with no disablity access. Catering is available but the studio is not part of our licensed premises. 

The Poetry Café

You can hire the cafe and the basement, for your exclusive use. This is ideal for parties, book launches etc. Our licence will not allow us to serve alcohol after 11pm and we have to close at 11.20pm. Hire rates

POETRY SOCIETY STUDIO:  

  • £47.00 per hour or £220.00 per day.

BASEMENT:  

  • £25 per hour or £75 for evening (7pm-11pm).

CAFE AND BASEMENT:

  • Private Party rate: £300.00
  • Commercial rate (exclusive use): £50.00 per hour 
  • Literary concession rate (exclusive use):  £25.00 per hour
