The Poetry Society

The basement is used for the majority of café events. It holds 50 people and is frequently used for book and magazine launches. It has disabled access via a lift, and a disabled toilet.

Please note this is a popular space and so bookings are required two months in advance. The Poetry Café toilets are accessed via the basement, so this space is not suitable for confidential meetings. £30 per hour (7pm-11pm).

The basement can also be hired in the afternoon.£30 per hour (3pm-6pm)

A bright space that can be used for seminars and teaching. It has a boardroom-style table which seats 14, or theatre-style seating for 50.  

Available for hire by the hour or whole day (10am-5pm). 

Please note there is no lift access to the studio. Catering is available but the studio is not part of our licensed premises. £45 per hour or £220 per day.

You can hire the café and the basement for your exclusive use. This is ideal for parties, book launches etc.

Please note our licence will not allow us to serve alcohol after 11pm and we have to close at 11.20pm. Catering available. Private Party rate: £300 | Commercial rate (exclusive use): £50 per hour | Literary concession rate: £25 per hour.
